Is se vivo, comparavit memoriam sibi et suis.
Remarks about the translation
Detta är omdömet om en svensk präst som dog i början av 1800-talet. Skrivet i kyrkböckerna av en kollega strax efter dödsfallet.

We need a subject here. It should be read:

"Servilius Troilus se vivo comparavit memoriam sibi et suis".

Thanks again Aneta

If there is a conjugated verb, we can add a subject.

Acha, Bamsa. We can put "is" (he) instead of the name. But some subject is very needed here, because without it we should translate "vivo" as a verb in 1st person (I live). Meanwhile it is not a verb at all, but an adjective "vivus" (alife) in ablative... And we have here ABLATIVUS ABSOLUTUS syntax.

Bridge for you, dear Pia:

"When he lived, he gained the memory/remembrance of himself and his"

his = family members or companies
