In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
Au pays des aveugles, le borgne est roi. | | | 26 září 2007 03:49 | | | Oh yes!
But I've learned on an old european proverbs book that it could be this way.
And I thought that 'blink' could be a funny variation of it or something like that! | | | 26 září 2007 03:51 | | | I think it was just a typo. | | | 26 září 2007 03:53 | | | OK!
I've already translated with the portuguese version!
Thanks Ian. | | | 26 září 2007 04:48 | | | Casper, it's definitely a typo (typing error) - "blink" is not an adjective in English, so this is impossible. It should be changed to "blind".
I just changed it. | | | 26 září 2007 06:17 | | | This reminds me of a personal anecdote.
I was in England in the late 80s on a visit home with my Guillaume (my nearest and dearest). In the pub he wanted to "manage on his own" so we told him what we wanted, (beers mostly!!) someone wanted a packet of "plain" crisps, but Guillaume misunderstood or misheard and asked the barman for a packet of "blind" crisps.
I guess they are made from potatoes from which we have removed the "eyes".
Hehe
