I don't think the problem is solved yet.
"one should give them their warmth" doesn't sound good to me.
Perhaps it could be:
" Angels have to cry too and they should be given warmth"

Angels have to cry too, SOMEONE should give them warmth ( there is no sence with "their", it was right traslated but sounds strange, in German too.. the original was edited, so could be that the sence must be " someone must give his warmth to the angels"

My suggestion:

"Angels also have to cry, you have to give them their warmth, too."

someone = jemand
man = you/one...and millions of other translations, it depends on the context

man muss ihnen auch ihre Wärme geben ~ se tiene que darles también su calor

Angels also have to cry sometimes, you have to give them the warmth they need too.

That's how I would translate it. "their warmth" is more or less "the warmth they need". "man" is a form that doesn't exist in English, but it's the same as the French "on".

I would say "we have to give them their warmth" - the original is not exactly elegant, so I don't think we should be reading more meaning into it than there already is. But the translation is also OK as it stands now (one should give them their warmth).

Yes, it's more accurate to say "their warmth", even though it's meant "the warmth they need".

How do you know what is meant, iamfromaustria? Is this a common saying in German?

No, but it's obvious that it can't be the warmth they produce themselves, that you have to give to them. It's about the same when you say "Man muss ihnen ihre Freiheit lassen". It's also not exactly their freedom, but the freedom they need.

No problem. It's often impossible for a non-native to know these nice little details of a language.... but that's what I'm here for, right?
