Oi.

A grafia é 'essential', com 't'. É claro que a sua sugestão foi também a primeira que me ocorreu, por ser literal, mas, por outro lado, tendo em vista que o inglês não substantiva os adjetivos com a mesma freqüência que o português, preferi uma outra construção, não perdendo em nada o sentido original.

Saudações,
Beto.

Hello,
While I was translating this sentence English to Turkish I realized that the translation of this sentence from Portuguese to English may be wrong. Because the lexical meaning of this sentence in Turkish is "Geçek olan gözlere görünmez" and this is not so meaningful.

In my humle opinion it is a big possibility that by this sentence it is wanted to be said that "what is essential is hidden in the eyes".

Thanks for your concern in advance.

Elif

elifyo,

I can assure the English translation is correct. The sentence comes from the famous Saint-Exupéry's book "The Little Prince".
