Bridge:

"DO BONFIM AD BAHIA"

Almost sure that it is a typo and should be "DO BONFIM DA BAHIA". That means "FROM BOMFIM OF BAHIA"

The word AD doesn't exists in Portuguese. If it is not a typo the only explanation that occurs to me is that the author was mixing a little of Latin just for fun.

I bet it's a typo.
It is probably: DO BONFIM DA BAHIA.
That's what makes sense.

Mideia,

"BONFIM" refers to Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim (Salvador) in "BAHIA", Brazil.

I translated that, but I have a question: Here Bonfim is like a region?

No, is only the saint ["Senhor do Bonfim" - "Our Lord of Good Destiny"] to whom the church is dedicated.
