Qum multas nobis imagines non solum ăd...
Text
Submitted by Francky5591
Source language: Latin

Qum multas nobis imagines non solum ăd intuendum, verum etiam ăd imitandum fortissimorum virorum eypressas scriptores et Graeci et Latini reliquerunt!
Heac studia adolescentiam ălunt, senestutem oblectant, secundas res ornant, adversis prefugium ăc solacium praebent, delectant, domi, non impediunt foris, pernoctant nobiscum, peregrinantur, rusticantur.
Remarks about the translation
Dvosmislena riječ verum. Ne znam prevesti u smislenu rečenicu/cjelinu. Mući me prijevod glagolskih vremena

Title
How many portraits
Translation
English

Translated by Efylove
Target language: English

How many portraits, vividly drawn, of the most courageous men Greek and Latin writers have left us not only to look at, but also to imitate!
These studies feed youth, entertain old age, enhance prosperity, offer a refuge and solace in adversity, delight us at home, don't obstruct us when we are out, sleep with us at night, travel and stay in the countryside with us.
Remarks about the translation
There's a mistake in the original text: it isn't "delectent, delectant, domi" but "delectant domi" (Cic. Pro Archia, 16)
