"Det guderne elsker mest tager de først tilbage" | Remarks about the translation | Det er en sætning der skal bruges til en tattovering jeg skal have lavet om min lillebror der døde som 9 årig. Fandt en der hed: Quem di diligunt adolescens moritur. Der betød: den, som guderne elsker, dør ung. Men synes den var for voldsom, håber i kan hjælpe mig. |

Is this line correct?
Shouldn't it be:
" Hvem guderne elsker mest, ..."
CC: Bamsa gamine | | | 24 March 2010 22:19 | | | Hi Lilian. No, it's written "Det" which means "What".
Otherwise it should have been: "Den". Of course it can be a spelling error and I know it's sounds strange. If you think we should correct it, I can do it.
| | | 24 March 2010 22:54 | | | If it refers to a person, the correct word to use is "who" or "the one", right? | | | 24 March 2010 23:00 | | | It's surely is, but you know, we Danes, express ourselves very often in a strange way. I'll edit.
Thanks for our help, as usual. | | | 24 March 2010 23:14 | | | Sorry if the disception was a bit confusing..
But i don't know if i want it to refer only to my brother, but more general in life - so the correct therm to use in english would be "what".
It would be great if one of you guys could help me out. | | | 24 March 2010 23:03 | | | Can't edit. Can you do it, please? "Den" instead of "Det". | | | 24 March 2010 23:09 | | | Trykflasken,
there are rules we have to observe when submitting a text regarding its form.
We should not write in the field of the title, any comment about the request.

There is an extra field right below where you can place any comment about the request that you think is important for the translator to know.
So, please, edit your request properly, OK? | | | 24 March 2010 23:18 | | | Sorry, didn't know - but it's done |
