Hi Lilian,

I am sorry but before giving you a bridge, I should learn more about the text.

Merhaba hakan_2051,

Cümleniz çok kısa fakat doğru çeviri yapılması için yeterince net değil. Ne demek istediğinizi tam olarak öğrenebilir miyim? "Ben sana aşık oldum" mu demek istiyorsunuz?

Şimdiden teşekkürler.

Hi again Bilge,

It seems the requester is not that interested anymore , however the translator deserves an evaluation of her work so...

Can this be translated as: "I died for you"?

Hi again Lilian,

There may be some other translations but I understand this text like this:

I fell in love with you.

"Birine yanmak" is an expression which we don't use in our daily life. As for me, that's it but if you want to be more confident, you could ask another Turkish expert.

I think Bilge is right, "I fell in love with you" is suitable.

"I fell in love with you" is o.k but it is very classic like to say "I love you".
He wants to say " I am burning for you" or "I'm dying for you.". They mean more deply.

Hi, I think "I fell in love with you" is too formal and it's wrong. Because it's not talk about the past. Informal form of declaration of love in Turkish. How about "I'm smitten with you"?.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions. "I am smitten with you" could be more suitable, I agree.

But, when we say "I fell in love with you" it is not completely past. It doesn't mean "I fell in love once upon a time". It is an action which was taken part in the past but it still affects today. Am I mistaken, Lilian?

I'm not a native English speaker but to my knowledge, what you say is "I've fallen in love with you". A native speaker had better explain this.
