Bonjour, Je suis assistante et je dois envoyer un mail au plus vite dans la semaine pour demander l'accord à mon Directeur d'organiser le voyage de l'une des responsable du service ainsi que 2 des ses collaborateurs.
I kindly request your consent by return of mail to organize the business trip of Mrs X, Mr Y and Mr Z, concerning their trip that will take place on the 8th and 9th of April 2013 in London. The aim of the journey is a visit to the team of Mr X.
Yours sincerely
Remarks about the translation
The usual form of address is 'Dear Sir', or his name.
Suggestion: To the Director
Dear Sir, etc.
- by return of mail: by replying to this email (if communication is via email) - aim, or: purpose
Thanks for your welcome suggestion, it sounds allright. Indeed, I found it difficult to find the correct translation for 'Monsieur le Directeur', as it also depends on the kind of organization. I would prefer 'Dear Mr ...' in an e-mail, which is often less formal than a letter and perhaps the writer knows his director personally.
