Not sure if it is good enough in Polish, though.
Another thing: byli is past tense, right?
But in Spanish it says: I just wish that this year we may be the best couple in the world like we were last year. | | |

For "byli", it's part of "Życze żebyśmy byli" that means "I wish we could be".
This is why there is a past word, which doesn't have a meaning of past.
