| | Hi sweety,
Weird sentence
Anyway...
me ---> I am |

| | Hi Lilian.
I was sure it would sound weird in English, but I don't really know how to translate that part.
If it was "I am" the portuguese version should be "estou". This form of phrase is used to show a contrast (rich and poor people in this case). I don't know if you have an idea? |

| | Yes, I know what you mean and I understood the line, however, even if "estou" can be omitted in Portuguese (sort of ellipsis), it can't be omitted in English in a case like this.

| | Hi girls
Just a suggestion...
I think that 'Estrelas (famosos) têm tanto e eu (estou) a morrer de fome' sounds better than 'Tantas estrelas e eu a morrer de fome', then it could be 'Stars have so much (things) and I'm starving' |

| | Hum...but we would be changing the original by adding words. If only the requester could give more context... |
| | 16 Januarie 2010 11:29 |
| | It's a nice suggestion Liz. Even if we edit the phrase, its sense doesn't change. |

| | Thanks, Francky!
I edited to "stars have so much and I'm starving", Liz's suggestion. |
| | 16 Januarie 2010 16:17 |
| | You should edit the original then |
| | 16 Januarie 2010 17:00 |
| | Well, "stars have so much" and "there are so many stars" have not the same meaning.
under the Portuguese version , requester seemed to agree with the following text :
"Tantas estrelas e eu a morrer à /de fome"
Not that I'm intending to spend hours on a meaning only translation, but at least the meaning has to be respected from this kind of translation request.

| | Hi Francky
1)She agreed but it sounds weird and she doesn't speak portuguese, I think she may be a beginner student of portuguese
2)My suggestion makes more sense with the original --> 'Stars tanto...' 'Estrelas têm tanto...'
3)both 'stars have so much' and 'there are so many stars' show contrast in different ways but the sentence must mean that while some people have so much others have none |

| | Concordo com a Lizzzz.
Acho que o mais provável é que no original esteja faltando "têm".
Edit: OOps! Sorry Francky.
I say that the in the original "Têm" must be missing. I'll edit it, OK? |
