It's not clear in Portuguese either.
Into Spanish it may be translated as:
"sostener", "apoyar" or "defender".
But it also may mean "sustentar" (supplying food and what is necessary to live.)
So, I'm not really sure on how to translate that to convey the original. 
Any ideas are welcome! |

Em espanhol "te quiero" tem o mesmo significado que "te amo"? ...
O espanhol não está longe do português.. parece me que (em espanhol), para cada expressão existe um sentido diferente..(assim como na lÃngua portuguesa)
Não sou perita, peço desculpa se estiver a dizer algum disparate!
"(...)Te amo, cada vez más hasta me da vergüenza.
¿me amas?
¡Yo te amo!"

I hope I am not intruding into your discussion, I just wanted to explain this:
Te quiero/ te amo = I love you
Te deseo / Tengo ganas de ti = I want you
This works in the same way in all of the Spanish speaking countries, "te quiero" means always "I love you"
