It's a quote from "American Pshycho". I guess the meaning is: hate is heavy/smth that we carry with us (e.g. in a trip)/ a burden/ an extra weight, smth like that. Probably there are other meanings for "baggage", or an explanation of the quote on the net, I haven't searched for it yet. ^.^
Just my opinion. | | | 2010년 6월 5일 08:33 | | | ups, "American History X"
And I also found the context:
Danny Vinyard: I hate anyone that isn't white Protestant.
Seth: Why?
Danny Vinyard: They're a burden to the advancement of the white race. Some of them are all right, I guess...

So I guess this is where I tell you what I learned - my conclusion, right? Well, my conclusion is: Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. | | | 2010년 6월 5일 11:34 | | | | | | 2010년 6월 5일 12:42 | | | Anytime. I hope I got the meaning right.
Hate is smth that burdens our life actually, an extra weight "on our shoulders" (a heavy load of feelings) that isn't worth "carrying it" in our short lifetime.
Why take baggage when the "trip" is a short one? |
