Zielsprache: Türkisch

kibir ne kadar artarsa, yenilgi o kadar hazin olur.
Bemerkungen zur Übersetzung
bu söz bir filmde geçen bir replik olup, bir nevi özdeyiştir. bu yüzden "engin is" şeklinde kullanılmaz. "engin says" denebilir belki. engin "...." der/diyor anlamında

Hello Kafetzou, do you think it would be correct to say "Engin iki kat daha kibirli olduğu için yenilgisi de o kadar hazin olacak"? ("Engin" is a name)

I think your translation is really good maldonado but I need some help to be sure

That sounds good to me, smy, but the expression "Twice the pride double the fall" is not really used in this way - it's only used as a stand-alone expression (not with someone's name and "is" before it). I suspect that this is a Turkish person trying to use the expression in this way, but it's very awkward in English. I think it should be translated awkwardly too. My suggestion, using maldonado's translation:

Engin "kibir ne kadar artarsa, yenilgi o kadar hazin olur" dur.

I agree that it's a Turkish person who wrote it this way
---Engin "kibir ne kadar artarsa, yenilgi o kadar hazin olur" dur--- would be very complicated for the reader so I think I should validate it as is Thank you very much!

I think maldonado's comment under the translation explains it, isn't it?

Maybe it is, but I can't understand it.
