hey what happened at the hibernian - motherwell match?
I haven't heard a peep out of you, did your ships sink off the coast of bakırköy?
Details voor de vertaling
The last phrase is a distorted historical reference, and basically means "Why are you upset?" (Thanks, Yolcu!).

"blessed thing" is a similar slang expression with the same meaning.

Thanks for the tip about "gemilerinmi". I'll change it.

is it not better instate of " the open at bakırköy" to use "in the Bakırköy coast"?

"Gemilerin mi battı" is a question to ask why he or she is upset. It directly means: "What made you upset/sad?" It is originally: "Karadeniz'de gemilerin mi battı?" but these days, people use the places different and make some fun by asking why the other is not so happy.

Bakırköy is a district in Istanbul and it is close to the Marmara Sea.

Thank you for your explanation, Yolcu - it's very helpful. My earlier question was about the meaning of "açıklar" in this context.
