Can't find the subject. Suppose it's in the verb but still can't find it.

Il S'agit du verbe "vivere" conjugué au passé simple à la troisiéme personne du singulier. Les peonoms personnels sujet sont très peu utilisé en italien (et aussi dans pas mal d'autres langues).

As Alex says, this phrase contains a conjugated form of a verb but some phrases don't have verbs, so the rule about only translating texts containing a verb is only a guideline and not an absolute law.

The question we need to keep in mind when applying the rule to a text is "Would the requester, having no notions of the target language, be able to translate this partial phrase himself with a source/target dictionary alone?"
