Poslednja poruka | | | | | 25 Avgust 2008 19:07 | | | Hi mingtr,
"the time is lapsing difficult"
Does it mean "time hardly lapses"? | | | 25 Avgust 2008 20:13 | | | yiah..
But, as is a song, I though that "time is lapsing difficult" would be more..well..I am not sure!
Perhaps, you are right!
I am going to correct it!
| | | 26 Avgust 2008 04:16 | | | I think the translation should be: without your love, time scarcely goes by, without your love, the world seems smaller... | | | 26 Avgust 2008 07:43 | | | "ΠΙΟ ΜΙΚΡΟΣ" means "smaller", not "too small".
However, I can think of a translation that also rhymes in English:
Without your love, time passes at a slower rate,
without your love, the world is not as great.
ΧÏησιμοποίησα τη λÎξη "too small" για υπεÏβολή..
| | | 27 Avgust 2008 16:37 | | | "smaller" not "too small" | | | 27 Avgust 2008 18:01 | | | ΧΩΡΙΣ ΤΗΠΔΙΚΗ ΣΟΥ (THN is missing) ΑΓΑΠΗ, ΔΥΣΚΟΛΑ ΠΕΡΠΑΕΙ (should be ΠΕΡNΑΕΙ) Ο ΚΑΙΡΟΣ,
ΧΩΡΙΣ ΤΗΠΔΙΚΗ ΣΟΥ (THN is missing here) ΑΓΑΠΗ, ΕΙÎΑΙ Ο ΚΟΣΜΟΣ ΠΙΟ (should be ΠΟΛY instead of ΠΙΟ) ΜΙΚΡΟΣ... | | | 27 Avgust 2008 22:13 | | | δÏσκολα πεÏνάει ο καιÏός: hardly time goes by | | | 27 Avgust 2008 22:30 | | | Ermmm doesn't "hardly" mean "very little" "barely enough"?
I'd go for a non poetic translation really. Something like "time passes arduously".
I mean, the way I understand "δÏσκολα πεÏνάει ο καιÏός" it doesn't mean that time hardly passes/lapses but that every minute is sheer drudgery. | | | 27 Avgust 2008 22:38 | | | hummm...good point Irini.
That would make more sense to me.
"Time passes painfully" | | | 28 Avgust 2008 14:54 | | | pass..?I think lapse is more..poetic ! | | | 28 Avgust 2008 15:40 | | | you are absolutely right about hardly irini...well i shouldn't translate late at night | | | 28 Avgust 2008 15:48 | | | ...time elapses arduously (with difficulty)
...time flows lethargically
