The English is very good, but I "systrannized" the Russian (I don't read any Russian at all, I'm afraid) and got a very different phrase.

It spoke of being in the light and of eyelids.

I've set a poll so as the other Russian speaking cucumists can help me out.

I see that the text has undergone a major change due probably to the difference between "на веки" and "навеки". The first one means "on (my) eyelids" and the second - "forever". In case it is "навеки", then there is an error in the original text.
