I would like to see whether it would be possible to abide with our 4th rule about conjugated verbs.
Sometimes the infinitive mode in French has the same meaning as the imperative mode does, and if it works the same with Polish, I'd suggest we use a formal imperative in the French version, eg :
"N'ayez pas peur de changer pour un mieux." (le mieux would rather match a superlative, which is not the case with "un" mieux
- un mieux : something better than usual - "le mieux" : the best - )
| | | 30 Tetor 2012 17:17 | | | Yes, it's the imperative form in the Polish tekst. It means:
"Don't be afraid of upturn*"
*"upturn" or literally "change for the better".
| | | 30 Tetor 2012 22:38 | | | would it be translatable by "don't be afraid of self-improvement"?
(In that case, I would translate into French with "n'ayez pas peur de vous perfectionner" or "n'ayez pas peur de vous améliorer" | | | 30 Tetor 2012 23:11 | | | No Francky. It means exactly what I typed before. Literally:
"Don't be afraid of change for the better".
You know, people sometimes are afraid of changes, even if their life is turning into something better. This sentence just tells us not to be afraid of the good change. ;-)
| | | 31 Tetor 2012 22:11 | | | Ok, Aneta! So "n'ayez pas peur" is the right translation from "Don't be afraid"
I edited and validated your translation. |
