In the original the word order is a bit different from usual because it is a saying.

Also, in what kind of situation would this saying be used?

We are talking about a small amount or the smallest amount possible.
The point is that small things make us happy.

Hmm. I guess that's not true in English-speaking culture - I can't think of any equivalent saying. Ian?

I think Ian's first suggestion is probably the best - I didn't think of that one.

Or how about this line from a Temptations song:

(just kidding - I don't think the meaning is quite the same)
