Maybe the first part reads better: "Take a piece of material 36 x 25 cm, add seam allowances and cut." | | | 27 Listopad 2008 15:49 | | piasLiczba postów: 8113 | Lilian?
I have another proposal, if that one is weird too, please reject it.
"Cut one piece of skirt material 36 x 25 cm, include seam allowances before cutting. Fold the material double, right side against right side, so the bolt width will be 18 cm and sew along the open edge." | | | 27 Listopad 2008 16:18 | | | Pia, what is "skirt material"? A piece of cloth to make a skirt?
right side against right side? facing the right side of the pieces?
bolt width?
I think I'd better learn a little sewing! | | | 27 Listopad 2008 17:13 | | piasLiczba postów: 8113 | I'm not an expert on sewing neither, but I think:
skirt material = the pice of material used for a skirt, I don't know why it's specific "kjolestoff", but I guess you don't use curtain fabric to a skirt...
bolt width = breadth
right side = the reverse side of the fabric, the side of the fabric you will not see, when the skirt is ready ... | | | 28 Listopad 2008 14:14 | | | | | | 28 Listopad 2008 20:21 | | HegeLiczba postów: 158 | "Cut one piece of the fabric 36 x 25 cm, include seam allowances before cutting. Kjolestoff er mer slang...det blir ikke brukt til daglig..fabric er det rette. | | | 28 Listopad 2008 20:22 | | HegeLiczba postów: 158 | "Cut one piece of the fabric 36 x 25 cm, include seam allowances before cutting. "kjolestoff" is not a word, fabric is the right way to go. | | | 28 Listopad 2008 20:46 | | | Thanks Hege.
Pia, would you like to make any edit? "material" has a more general use, it can be anything of which thing are made. | | | 29 Listopad 2008 12:36 | | piasLiczba postów: 8113 | Ok, I understand. |
