"Tanto quest'anno non lavoro" --> here "tanto" is a colloquial way to say "comunque" / "however"
"Va be', ma quelli si fanno" --> "Va be'" is colloquial for "Va bene", like the Eglish "Well" that you put at the beginning of a sentence; "quelli" is probably referred to something, not to someone
