The Mother

And when the heart, by its last beating,
Has made the wall of shadow fall,
In order to lead me, Mother, up to our Lord
You will give me your hand as you used to.
On your knees, determined,
You will be a statue in front of the Eternal,
Such as He already saw you
When you were still alive.
You will lift your old arms, trembling,
As when you passed away
Saying: "My God, here I am"
And only when He has forgiven me
You will desire to look at me.
You will remember waiting so long for me,
And your eyes will show a quick sigh.
