Was the house "built" or "hoisted"?

I didn't understand this line:
"I think there must have been reunion happiness in quantity!"

I think this is about that kind of house that comes in kit, they put it together in only a few days. Is it possible to say: "The house was put up ..." ?

I can't find a more direct translation for "til tusen", but the meaning for it = "heaps of" ...something. Here it's about the happiness that comes when you haven't seen somebody for a long time and you reunite. Maybe: "I think there must have been plenty of Reunion happiness!!"

What about "the house was assembled"?
and
"I think the gathering (must have) brought plenty of happiness"?
