Does this mean
I spent over half a year in your group, but it was a complete waste of time!
or
I spent over half a year in your group, but I now quit!
(i.e. I don't want to be a member any more)?

加班 is a word and it is the head of the noun phrase 半年之上的加班 and the subject of 作废. Is it more clear? Good luck!
