Последно мнение | | | | | 28 Февруари 2012 18:19 | | | Hi merdogan Hocam,
What about "it doesn't sound unfamiliar at all" or "it is not completely alien to me" instead of saying "I am not alien from this" -which I think is not natural in English? | | | 4 Април 2012 20:20 | | LeinОбщо мнения: 3389 | I think you can say 'I am not alien to this', meaning 'I am not unfamiliar with this'. Mesud is right in that it is not used very often and both his suggestions and the above @I am not unfamiliar with this' sound a bit more normal.
I am not sure about 'by jingo' - this is a very quaint expression, giving the impression the speaker is trying to pick a funny-sounding and somewhat posh 19-th century exclamation. Is that what is intended? Otherwise, how about a more commonly used one like 'by god'? | | | 13 Април 2012 20:29 | | | | | | 16 Април 2012 15:22 | | | I think the context must be something like this:
A: Hey Çetin, I like this one (A says he likes the girl he is looking at now)
B or A: To tell the truth, she looks pretty familiar. | | | 16 Април 2012 16:09 | | | | | | 16 Април 2012 16:53 | | | | | | 16 Април 2012 16:57 | | | I like this one --> She is so hot  | | | 16 Април 2012 21:57 | | | | | | 16 Април 2012 22:45 | | | Haven't you ever heard something like 'tuttum bunu', 'hatun güzelmiÅŸ'? This is slang.
Also, could you tell me what is being liked and what is familiar? Keep in mind, two men are having a chat to each other. | | | 16 Април 2012 23:49 | | | no connection.
Who knows "two men are having a chat to each other"? | | | 16 Април 2012 23:57 | | | Please do not keep saying "no such thing". OK, suppose that a man and a woman are having a chat. Now go ahead. What could be the subject? | | | 17 Април 2012 00:00 | | | Hey Çetin, s/he is hot. To tell the truth, s/he looks pretty familiar.
OK? | | | 17 Април 2012 00:18 | | | | | | 17 Април 2012 00:22 | | | OK, calm down. Please yourself.  |
