TyleWszędzie dobrze i źle po połowie-Idź w świat...
Text
Submitted by AliRosse
Source language: Polish

Wszędzie dobrze i źle po połowie-Idź w świat gdzie chcesz-Rób co umiesz, jak wiesz-Lecz jak kochać się-to we Lwowie.
Remarks about the translation
Canzone degli anni 30,perciò alcune parole potrebbero essere in disuso.
Preferirei la traduzione in Italiano altrimenti come lingua di transizione Inglese (INGHILTERRA E USA), francese (FRANCIA), spagnolo (SPAGNA). Grazie di cuore

Title
There is half good and half bad everywhere...
Translation
English

Translated by Aneta B.
Target language: English

There is half good and half bad everywhere. Go out into the world, where you want to go. Do what you can do, as you know. But if you want to fall in love, do it in Lwow.
Remarks about the translation
or: "But if you love do it (only) in Lwow" as the Polish song "Only in Lwow" suggests... ;)

Hi Aneta,
Could "bad" change into "evil"?

Hello Lilly!
I'm not sure of that. When somebody asks:
"How is it going?"
We usually answer: "quite well" , "not so bad" etc. We don't use "evil" in those cases. And this is such a case right here I guess.
But you can be right if we understand the sentence in a philosophical way... You probably mean: "There is good and evil in the world.." Am I right? But I don't know if it is appropriate analogy in here.

That's what I thought, but if you think the meaning would change, let's keep the 'bad'

I'll keep it and will be waiting for opinions of voters. I'm ready to change it if they say I think wrong in this case.

Penso che sia più giusto come dice Lillian cioè che bad sia inteso come evil, male in senso filosofico.Comunque Grazie Infinite Aneta e Lillian per avermi aiutata

Forse è davvero così come scrivi, AliRosse. Ma aspettiamo alre opinioni delle persone che conoscono entrambe le lingue: polacco e inglese. Cordiali saluti!
