A few changes to flow better:
"And I want my old love back...hey, come back, come back...I'm telling you, do not just look, do something."
What do you think? Does it convey the meaning?
| | | 18 December 2010 20:18 | | | Hi Lilian,
Yes, I agree. Just one thing: I think we should add "at it" ( "do not just look at it" ) because it seems s/he refers to something specific. What do you think? | | | 18 December 2010 20:27 | | | What would that "it" refer to? The only possible former reference (noun) would be: "my old love", but I don't think "it" refers to the love.
Is there anything I don't get? | | | 18 December 2010 20:54 | | | Yes, "my old love" isn't the antecedent. "It" 's antecedent might be in the previous or in the following sentence, I can't know. Maybe it's a mispelling of "τον" (him, "το" instead of "τον" ), but I can't be sure about that either. There is an "it" in the original and I feel that something is missing if I translate "don't just look..." | | | 18 December 2010 21:45 | | | OK, if you think it's needed, go ahead. | | | 20 December 2010 19:41 | | | I would translate "Κι εγώ" as "I ... too" (the "too" goes after "back" , and I would say "don't" instead of "do not" - it sounds more natural that way. | | | 21 December 2010 11:05 | | | And I want my old love back... come back you, come back... I'm talking to you, don't just look, do something." |
