do you really mean that the distinction betweeen 'libre' and 'sans' are worth an academic discussion? ("fria från" is close enough to "free from", thank you)
2) I don't think I suggested at any time to have "an academic discussion" about this (even though some people on this site obviously love those)
3) I'm only pointing to what I think is most commonly used in my mother tongue, French. With rare expections ( like "libre de droits" ), "libre de", in French, does not mean "sans" and is way less frequent.
