"allons nous" is not enough to understand what they are planning to do, you've got to add another verb, maybe "allons-nous nous aimer aujourd'hui"

And "mon poupin" I never read that before!

Maybe rather "mon mignon", or "mon joli".

No, "joufflu" is sometimes used in French slang about children and /or babies, for grown-ups it sounds a bit pejorative IMO.

Something currently heard, and tender at a time from a woman to her chubby lover, would be "mon gros nounours". Saying only "mon gros" wouldn't be appropriate.
