Repertory grid technique was used to test the claim that sense of
landscape naturalness is socially constructed and culturally relative,
and the reverse claim that sense of landscape naturalness is
underlain by universals of human thought. Sample groups represented
three cultures at extremes along a continuum of ideology concerning
human relations with nature: Euro-Canadian at one end, Vuntut
Gwichâ€™in and north Baffin Inuit at the other.

Tehnica grilei repertoar a fost folositÄƒ pentru a verifica afirmaÅ£ia cum cÄƒ percepÅ£ia naturaleÅ£ei peisajului este constrÃ¢nsÄƒ social ÅŸi relativÄƒ din punct de vedere cultural, ca ÅŸi afirmaÅ£ia inversÄƒ, cum cÄƒ percepÅ£ia naturaleÅ£ei peisajului ar Å£ine de baza universalitÄƒÅ£ii gÃ¢ndirii umane. Grupurile testate au reprezentat trei culturi aflate la extremele ideologiei privind interacÅ£iunea oamenilor cu natura: Euro-Canadian pe de o parte ÅŸi Vuntut Gwinch'in ÅŸi InuiÅ£i Baffin din nord, pe de altÄƒ parte.
