set in a prestigious american shool designer to educate the songs of the rich and powerful,weir's film is a strange,poetic meditation and rites of passage,but it also has pccasional moments of humour.this is mainly thanks to the performance of robin williams as the boy's charismatic teacher,john keating.
his unorthodox teaching methods encourage some of his students to be creative,and to rebel against the school's autoritarian regime.
