| | kids er meget amerikansk
children mere engelsk. Det er ikke ensbetydende med at det er forkert, men det bør vervejes. |

| | Det är gramatiskt fel.
"Vi fick" står de ju.. Inte "Vi har".. Det ska snarare stå "We got three kids/children together".. Det låter mer gramatiskt rätt.. |

| | HEJ.Jer er fulstændig enig med Jarla. " We got 3
children together.
But what about :" We HAVE got three children together "?
Er det ikke bedre? De kan jo stadigvæk få flere børn. Det er bare et forslag!! |

| | We´ve had tree kids together |

| | Hi Pia, could you help here, please.?
Such a simple sentence is causing so much trouble! CC: pias |

| piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | word by word = "we got three children/kids together." (I don't know if that is proper English?)
Meaning is that they got (received) three kids, no more or less.

| piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Another try to explain here.
If you put this sentence in a whole communication, I guess that the one who say this is not staying with her/his partner anymore. (Dead/divorced/gone) If you live together you probably don't say: "Vi fick tre barn tillsammans", you probably say: "Vi har (fått) tre barn tillsammans." (We've got three kids together)

| | What would be correct in English is:
1- We have three....
or
2- We've got three...
both with the same meaning.
"Got" as "received" doesn't make sense, I guess... |

I just tried to explain it and why (maybe?) people vote against. I’m just a Swede you know, and you are the English expert ...so if the meaning is the same as the origin, you got to keep it as it is! |

| | HI Pias; Have been reading the comments and the swedish text again. YOU are right. The Swedish word is fick? SORRY for having voted against yr translation. MEA CULPA. |
| | 30 April 2008 23:13 |
| | I think the translation looks good now as it is now, and I have nothing to add to what you say about this, Pia! (It seems to me that you've already said everything of importance!) |
