Du förresten, var är solen? | Remarks about the translation | kala're har ingen direkt motsvarighet i svenska. Skulle kunna vara "hörru grabben" "Du förresten". ;)

Helo Irini,
can you please bridge this? CC: Mideia irini | | | 19 November 2008 17:10 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Lena,
| | | 19 November 2008 21:42 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | mayday, mayday, mayday ...
Hur ska vi göra här Lena? | | | 19 November 2008 21:43 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Ah, vi skrev samtidigt ...
Ok, jag frÃ¥gar en tredje expert. | | | 19 November 2008 21:44 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Hello sofibu
Can you please help here, with a bridge?
THANKS in advance! CC: sofibu | | | 21 November 2008 10:30 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Hi Irini!
Sorry to nag, but since we have no one to vote on this one and the other Greek experts can't help, I ask you again ...
Does this mean "Good, where is the sun?"
THANKS in advance.
CC: irini | | | 22 November 2008 02:27 | | | No, it's me who should apologise. Sorry, but I have been and still am quite ill and I forgot to answer:
No, not really. The first part, "Kala re" (Καλά Ïε) is a conversation filler. Something like "Hey man" or the slightly out of fashion "yo". If you have such a conversation filler that is used in a sort of "by the way" way it would be perfect.
The second part could be indeed referring to the sun or to a guy named "Ilio" (not a Greek name mind you). If it does refer to the sun, it should have been "ilios" (ήλιος).
So, in a nutshel, I would probably translate it like.
"By the way man/dude// Hey man/dude where is the sun/Ilio?)
Hope this helps. I promise to answer other questions a bit faster. | | | 22 November 2008 08:52 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Thanks irini, it helps a lot, and don't worry for late reply.
Hope you get well soon from your illness. | | | 22 November 2008 09:33 | | piasจำนวนข้อความ: 8113 | Du verkar ha bra koll Lena! Första ordet bör väl dock ändras, samt en notering om alternativet. Om du korrigerar sÃ¥ godkänner jag. |
