Looks like terms from economics/demographics/sociology/etc., but we'd need to know what they refer in the
concrete
to before they were translated anyway, I should think...

That last bit is likely "population
as
a whole," anyway...?

That's what I thought at first, too, but it could be an incomplete sentence, as in "the population is a whole number" or something like that.
