Poslednja poruka | | | | | 10 Februar 2012 11:33 | | | | | | 10 Februar 2012 14:22 | | LeinBroj poruka: 3389 | Hm - I will leave this to a native speaker.
Here, to avoid 'his or her' ('one's ' doesn't work here), people almost always say 'everyone has their own etc'.
I am not sure whether this counts as grammatically correct (yet), but major newspapers and magazines do this too.
Alternatively, I suppose I would say 'his own affairs'. | | | 10 Februar 2012 19:00 | | | Lein is right. Nowadays, "they" is becoming more and more acceptable as a pronoun for "he/she" or "everyone". But I have no idea what this writer meant to say. Did it originally say "their own affairs"? If so, it should be restored to its original state. | | | 10 Februar 2012 19:02 | | | But why is a Polish speaker submitting a translation in English? I'm not at all sure what happybean means with "affairs" - I would guess it means "other things to do", but that's just a guess. | | | 10 Februar 2012 22:14 | | | Thanks Laura!
Hi Aneta! Please could you ask the requester what he means with "affairs" in this short text
Thanks! CC: Aneta B. | | | 10 Februar 2012 22:35 | | | ... or ask him to submit his request in Polish. | | | 10 Februar 2012 23:12 | | | i am changed now is good? | | | 11 Februar 2012 15:04 | | | I understood what happtbean means by "affairs". It's something like "everyone minds their/his own business". I would like to translate it into Turkish after it is released. | | | 11 Februar 2012 15:18 | | | Thanks mesud, I'll release this text now. |
