The original text is also incomplete, and ends in the middle of a phrase, as the translation shows.
Japanese does not require subjects or objects of verbs. Also, because verbs are not conjugated, there are no hints about who the subject is (as in Spanish or Italian). Reparei nas notas abaixo da tradução inglesa que não temos muita informação sobre o texto original, mas mesmo assim penso que talvez seria melhor utilizar "sentimentos" no texto, pois ficamos sem saber a que se refere o "eles". Talvez pondo entre parênteses tal qual como o texto inglês?

No texto do Ian, ele explica claramente que estava apenas tentando "imaginar" a que estava se referindo, por isso colocou uma interrogação. Ele fez isso para justificar a falta de sujeito na frase que em inglês deveria existir, mas que não é preciso nas lÃnguas latinas. Não sabemos "exatamente" se está se referindo a sentimentos (embora faça bastante sentido). Eu ainda prefiro não colocar nada já que a tradução fica correta do mesmo modo e não arriscamos usar uma palavra errada.
