Just to know, what is the difference between "dale" and "valley"?

'vale' is usually used metaphorically in expressions like: "vale of tears", just to build an image of vastness. And 'dale' is known as "valley" specially in northern England, not everywhere. I think in this line the word used should carry the exact meaning for everyone to understand.
