Hi Ania,
Your suggestion should read "I have a six-year-old daughter", but it doesn't change the meaning of the sentence. It's the same thing.
And about elder...it is correct since he is one year older than her

I think that the Polish and the Norwegian translations are different , however since I ve no understanding of polish language I have read the norwegian one
