This sounds very strange in English. Is it just as strange in Turkish?
Is there any other way you could put the last sentence? Does it really mean the person is going to be the pain? Or would he go to feel the pain?
Sorry for all the questions - just trying to work out what the text means
Thank you! | | | 13 Dezember 2010 16:48 | | | the text means he is going there to be "trouble", like; "problem"..
you know the expression in english "He's such a pain"... the same meaning as this sentence.
you're welcome. | | | 13 Dezember 2010 17:20 | | LeinAnzahl der Beiträge: 3389 | Thanks!
In this sentence, 'pain' on its own doesn't sound right. Two main reasons:
- I'm going to be the pain -> I'm going to be a pain = better
- I think what is missing is a mention of to whom the person will be a pain.
Even so, it would be rather an unusual way of saying this in English. I have changed it into 'annoy them'. Would that work? (i.e. is that the meaning of the Turkish text?) | | | 13 Dezember 2010 17:24 | | | in the turkish text, he doesn't mention about annoying "anybody"(he didnt use any pronoun)..
p.s. I think he's trying to say he is going to do some lechery.. but ofcourse this is beyond the sentence. | | | 13 Dezember 2010 17:29 | | LeinAnzahl der Beiträge: 3389 | OK, then this might be better... | | | 13 Dezember 2010 21:42 | | | my suggestion is
"I am getting out of Germany, I will be going to Canada to be a menace" |
