This sentence is taken from an oath that militaries swear in Poland. The line is one of many in the oath and the starting one is missing (i.e. the one that sets the context). The missing line (the opening line in the oath) is: "I solemnly swear to..." (followed by many lines like this one submitted for translation). I decided to put the missing line into my translation in order to make the context complete (i.e. the added part is: "jag svär att" - "I swear to").
