'ilk önce'='öncelikle' means 'first'.
'...ilk önce internete girdim...'=... first I connected to the Internet (before starting work).'
(it has the same usage as: 'First I fed the baby, then I made myself a sandwich.')
If the meaning of this part is 'for the first time' it should be translated as 'ilk defa' or 'ilk kez'.
