"Koja je zadesila" is actually a variant of "Koja se desila" wich would be exactly "That happened", but there is a slight difference between "zadesila" and "desila". Zadesila is much more "qui a frappé", something that happens without warning, suddenly, and we can't do anything about ! Just like a big storm !
