| | Original form of translation:
Live your dream. |
| | 31 Outubro 2007 16:26 |
| | jag hade valt att skrivit live the dream i stället för live your dream. |

| | pias, do you need to change this?
live the dream
would mean
live the dream that everybody has.
live your dream
would mean
live the dream that you have.
Which one is meant by
lev drömmen
can you tell? |
| | 1 Novembro 2007 02:22 |
| | The requester explained what was "dream", but no explanation about "live".
She said that her dream is to become a journalist |

| | I see! Thanks, caspertavernello!
Can you understand from what she wrote in Swedish why she rejected this translation, in the general vote? |
| | 1 Novembro 2007 02:46 |
| | She said: I choose writing "live the dream" instead of "live your dream". |

| piasNúmero de Mensagens: 8113 | Hi Ian, Casper,lindamaria!
I guess I wasn't online when you discussed this translation...zzz But, the notes are talking about one individuals dream , she explained her own dream to become a journalist one day...so,
I think it's allright as it is??? |

| | Yes, it seems like lindamaria doesn't understand the difference in English between
live your dream
and
live the dream
If she is talking about living her own dream, then I think the translation is correct as it stands now.
Live the dream
would mean that she accepts a collective dream, and then tries to live it, not her own personal one.
I hope someone can explain that difference to lindamaria in Swedish too, so she can understand and accept it... |
