If you were looking for a translation of the proverb, here you have what Latin people would have said: "Malum quidem nullum esse sine aliquo bono" (There is, to be sure, no evil without something good).

Yes, it's always difficult to translate and evaluate proverbs...
However I always put the literal translation before the other translation, since in our FAQ we can read "...stick to the source text as closely as possible when translating..."
