Iepurica, I took out the word "to" after "give up", but there are still a few questions I have about this translation:

1) the word "the": We only use that if the situations being referred to are known to the reader - is that the case here?

2) the tense of "force": Is this a general statement, which is always true? If so, this is OK. If not, maybe it should be "are forcing", if it's talking about the current situation.

You are right, there is a general statement in this case, not a current situation.

As per "the situations" here I am not 100 per cent sure, but I suppose it is more correct if is only "situations".

PS.Milla wrote there, in the end: "Detta är ett citat" in Sweedish, which, if I'm not mistaken, means "this is a quote", maybe this helps somehow.
