"...deixá-la ciente" "...deixe-me à par dos acontecimentos", são expressões muito "formais" para o tipo de mensagem que esta parece ser, vocês não acham?
"dizer, contar ou avisar" creio que seriam verbos mais adequados.
by the weekend = até (no máximo) o fim de semana

Eu diria simplesmente:
"Assim que puder (tiver chance) conte-me o que está acontecendo"

I sometimes wonder how we manage to translate anything correctly given the poor state of some of the texts we have to translate.
In case the English source text is used as a basis for another translation, I will clean it up. It shouldn't make any difference to Casper's translation, so no worry
