最近发帖 | | | | | 2008年 十一月 13日 21:30 | | | maybe it should be "we dont sell books on pay-later terms" i still cant get over that bit "on credit" | | | 2008年 十一月 13日 22:28 | | | I don't know why this transaltion should be an exception compared to the ones produced before?
As I agree with Elmota regarding the part about "credit".
| | | 2008年 十一月 13日 23:47 | | | a native speaker will not use " on credit " there's another word. | | | 2008年 十一月 14日 15:00 | | | i've much liked your statement (there's another word),would you please make evidence!i'd like to know that word my dear imene,ok,a native would rather say on credit,it is said in stores,in banks too!thanx for the remark!see you later imene | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 00:36 | | | "on credit" sounded really awkward to me dear shinyheart !yes certainly , I can tell you what would a native speaker say: "Books are not for sale on hire purchase."
See you!
| | | 2008年 十一月 16日 00:58 | | | Hey ladies! there's no need to make a racket!
"to sell sth on credit" is totally correct in English.
I don't understand why it sounds so strange to you.
"hire purchase" is used mostly in Britain. | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 08:40 | | | See!it's totally correct,so why to discuss something said by a hook or by a crook!my dear imene, i love to be judged and essessed by others, only if i'm wrong, yet it's not a war!we're learning in peace lol,so no need to weapons! | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 09:10 | | | well lilian reason being is that "on credit" immidiately suggests credit cards for Arabic native speakers, we almost never use "on credit" to mean hire purchase, if i had to choose, i would choose hire purchase bacause Arabic speaking people would not confuse it with "credit card purchase" thats why we got thrown off by it
| | | 2008年 十一月 16日 09:19 | | | "we" are you refering to arab people? why do you use hypothesises, why don't you be sure and offer proof that "on credit" is false, that is not used any more in such domain!i would be so thankful | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 09:56 | | | Hi Lillian Elmota and all
"hire purchase" sounded way too good. I guess this was the other word Imene wanted to point out for. And yes, it associates no confusion. | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 12:36 | | | I've added that option in the remarks. I don't think this takes further discussion.
Thank you all for your input. | | | 2008年 十一月 16日 13:05 | | | wachi hadhaaaaaaa ya khawla!
j'ai pas dit que ton "on credit " est faut!
