"hire purchase" is used mostly in Britain. |

| | well lilian reason being is that "on credit" immidiately suggests credit cards for Arabic native speakers, we almost never use "on credit" to mean hire purchase, if i had to choose, i would choose hire purchase bacause Arabic speaking people would not confuse it with "credit card purchase" thats why we got thrown off by it

"hire purchase" sounded way too good. I guess this was the other word Imene wanted to point out for. And yes, it associates no confusion.  |
