最新記事 | | | | | 2009年 5月 25日 01:51 | | | Hi merdogan. It's been a while, hasn't it?
"I kiss you" is not very common in English. We'd better say: "A kiss to you".
What do you think? | | | 2009年 5月 25日 08:11 | | | Do you ever use "canim" and "seni öpüyorum" if you speak to a friend, or could this only be used in a romantic fashion? | | | 2009年 5月 25日 15:53 | | | ''My life'' have not same meaning.darling, honey, sweety, sweetie, sweetheart, dearling, honeybun, honeybunch
are more appropriate for ''canım'' | | | 2009年 5月 25日 17:02 | | | I think it would be more correct to translate "canım" as: my darling, my dear. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 17:25 | | | I agree with Gergeb and Sunnybebek, but I think "canım" is right this way too. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 17:37 | | | OK, that was fixed. Anything else? or may I validate it? | | | 2009年 5月 25日 17:47 | | | It´s ok... I understand, but can anybody tell me:
Do you ever use "canim" and "seni öpüyorum" if you speak to a friend, or could this only be used in a romantic fashion? | | | 2009年 5月 25日 18:00 | | | I think we can't use "canım" or "seni öpüyorum" when we are talking to a friend. I think you should ask a native to be sure about it, Luna.
@Lilian, I think you can validate it. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:06 | | | Hi Dear lilian.
Yes, ıt's been a while, you seem to have thoroughly forgotten me.
if you ask me I say "my life" is more better(romantic) than the others because life is very important. The others (darling, love, dear....) are standard forms. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:04 | | | Of course, you can say 'canım' or 'seni öpüyorum' to a friend. 'canım' is 'my dear' and 'seni öpüyorum' is literally 'I kiss you' but in English I think it's more appropriate to say 'kisses'. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:11 | | | Merdogan has right too, look at this:
aşkım - my love
canım - my life
bi tanem - my only one
hayatım - my life
sevgilim - my darling
balım - my honey

Hazal, what do you think about it? | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:25 | | | Yes, literally it could be 'my life' but in English I think 'my life' is quite romantic (isn't it ?), whereas 'canım' is not necessarily romantic. You can say 'canım' to your brother, your sister, your friends... and you can also say 'canım' to your boy/girlfriend, your husband/wife...
Personally, when I have to translate 'canım' into English, I translate it as 'my dear', it's more usual. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:49 | | | Thanks for your explanation, Hazal. Like this I learned a little bit too.
| | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:50 | | | I don't agree with 44hazal44 for last line. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:54 | | | You're welcome. | | | 2009年 5月 25日 20:55 | | | |
